Restoring growth in the debt laden third world was 30 years ago a burning issue and one of great relevance in today's environment. What was then suggested was to remove bad debts from delinquent countries and other toxic assets from the balance sheets of all major banks and place them in special purpose vehicles , funded by public money. The United States are going through a multi faceted crisis: a financial crisis, a serious weakening of the dollar, geopolitical difficulties in the middle East and Afghanistan, and an excessive amount of external borrowings, all of that combine with an economic crisis.
Within that context the relationship with China is critical to their future.
