Euramerica is an invitation for America and Europe to forge new links in order to address together the financial, economic, and geo-strategic issues that confront both continents. Relegating all other considerations, we need to focus on our shared values, our common history and the convergence of our mutual interests.
It should not be forgotten that together the United States and Europe make up over fifty percent of the world GNP and account for seventy-five percent of worldwide military expenditure. Euramerica boasts a combined population of over eight hundred million people.
It cannot be denied that Europe and the United States don’t share the same view of external affairs in terms of propensity to action. Europe has developed over the last six decades as a region built on free trade and political consensus. The European vision of how to protect its interests in the future does not yet coincide with the American style.
But who in America or in Europe could conceive of any other major power with similar values and cultural affinities with which to collaborate on the making the world a better place in terms of environmental safeguards, the eradication of extreme poverty, and the elimination of terrorism?
